You will notice that many of our products are tagged with Eco-friendly or Sustainable Brand, these are indicators that this product or brand falls into one, or both of the following categories: 

Eco-friendly

Eco-friendly refers to material or design practices that actively work to not harm the planet. 

• Products where materials used are grown or produced with a significantly reduced environmental impact. 
• Products made in the USA with a reduced carbon footprint. 
• Products that are made with regenerated or recycled or upcycled materials. 
• Products that are awarded global ratings for their eco-friendly design including FSC-Certifications, GreenGuard Gold Certification, B Corp Certification, and more. 

Sustainable Brand

Sustainability refers to the brand’s supply chain and the impact they have on a global footprint with Environmental, Social, and Governance considerations. Sustainability focuses on the future and highlights the environmental, social, and economic benefits a brand’s products create. 

• Sustainable manufacturing practices that reduce resource use and minimize their contribution to pollution and overall global footprint. 
• Intentionally sustainable practice decisions such as sustainable packaging, minimizing industrial waste, use of recycled materials.
• Energy-efficient warehouses/factories following guidelines for conscious consumption and production (Solar/Wind/Hydro powered).
• Utilizing Non-Toxic/Environmentally Friendly Finishes/Coatings/Paint/Ink. Ex: Low VOC Paints.

Certified B-Corp

A B-Corp, short for Benefit Corporation, is a brand that aims to balance profit with a commitment to social and environmental goals. B-Corps consider the impact of their decisions on stakeholders including employees, communities, and the environment. To become certified as a B-Corp, a company must meet specific social and environmental performance standards set by the non-profit organization B Lab. This certification process verifies a company's commitment to operating in a socially and environmentally responsible manner, and it legally obligates the company's board to consider these factors when making decisions.

Certified Climate Neutral

To become climate neutral, a brand needs to take several factors into consideration and implement strategies to reduce, offset, or mitigate its greenhouse gas emissions. Key factors include: 

• Measuring and reducing greenhouse emissions through renewable energy sources, energy efficiency, and optimizing transportation & logistics.
• Offsetting emissions, by investing in renewable energy development, forest conservation, or methane capture.
• A brand must make a public commitment to achieving carbon neutrality within a specific timeframe. 
• Brands must continuously produce transparent reporting on emissions data and reduction efforts to display their progress. 
• Brands frequently assess their emissions, identifying new opportunities for reduction, therefore adapting their strategies to stay aligned with best practices.
